MS. IMELDA ELIDO
Executive Director, Felicidada T. Sy Foundation, Inc.
Imelda joined the Felicidad T. Sy Foundation in 2013 after 2 1/2 decades of working with BDO Universal Bank holding various positions in different departments, the last position of which was First VP when she retired in Dec. 2012. While working with BDO, she started to serve with the Lecom Ministry of the Chapel of the Eucharistic Lord in SM Megamall and with the Lecom Ministry of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel at the BDO North Tower. Wanting to serve not only on weekdays but also on weekends, she joined the Ministry of the Word in her own parish, the Holy Spirit Parish. These services to the Catholic church for 26 years and counting, 2 years as President of the Ministry of the Word (now Lecom ) and 3 years as Chair of the Parish Pastoral Council helped her to understand the functions of the various ministries of the Catholic church . Her experience in the corporate world and her service to the Lord, laid the groundwork for her assignments in the FTSFI which entail review of presented projects for assistance and coordination with the prospective beneficiaries for completion of required documents to aid in the approval. Internally, she is also in charge of the religious activities in chosen SM Malls for Sunday Mass celebrations and other activities that will ensure continuous spiritual growth among volunteer religious group members. Activities include Recollections, Formation seminars, Confirmation, Mass Wedding, etc. She was the one who started the commissioning and renewal of SM Lectors and Commentators by the Archdiocesan Liturgical Commission in 2013.
Imelda, finds it fulfilling to be able to assist the FTSFI in its vision of promoting Catholic living as well as its work in the community and consequently help churches in need of grants. Now that she is with the Arts & Culture committee, she hopes to be able to support and participate in the LCF given initiatives.
