Participants from the workshop during their online sessions via Zoom

From March 24 to 26, 2026, the LCF–CSR Institute successfully conducted the Financial Management and Accounting Standards for Non-Profits Workshop, bringing together seven finance officers, program officers, and managers from various organizations for a comprehensive three-day learning experience. Held via Zoom on the first two days and in person on the final day, at the Sunlife Philippines Foundation Office. The workshop ran daily from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Designed to strengthen financial literacy and accountability, the workshop equipped participants with essential knowledge and practical tools in program budgeting, cost allocation, and financial report analysis—key competencies in effectively managing non-profit programs and organizations. It also served as a valuable refresher for accounting personnel, including accountants and bookkeepers across NGOs, corporate foundations, and family foundations.

Participants were as follows:

The workshop accorded participants a  revisit of fundamental accounting concepts while exploring the relationship between project management and financial management cycles. Discussions emphasized the importance of sound financial practices in ensuring transparency, sustainability, and impact in non-profit work.

Through exercises,  discussions covered  practical examples wherein participants strengthened their understanding of nonprofit accounting principles and standards.

The sessions were led by Dr. Lolita P. Tang, a seasoned professional in accounting, auditing, and consultancy, and Mr. Richard Ibarra, Director for Tax Advisory and Compliance at P&A Grant Thornton. Together, they shared valuable insights and real-world perspectives that enriched the learning experience.

LCF extends its sincere appreciation to Ms. Kristine Dianne C. Millete and the Sun Life Foundation for hosting and supporting the workshop, as well as to Ms. Lolit Tang and Mr. Richard Ibarra for their invaluable contributions as resource speakers.
