Security Bank Foundation, Inc. (SBFI) continues to turn partnerships into purpose as it formalized its collaboration with A.C. Steel Industries, Inc. (A.C. Steel), a valued client of Security Bank Corporation, on February 26, 2026, in Makati City to support the Foundation’s Build a School, Build a Nation program.
Through the partnership, A.C. Steel will donate metal decking materials and roofing sheets for three SBFI school building projects this year, equivalent to 28 classrooms, in Iloilo City National High School; Zamboanga del Norte National High School in Dipolog City; and Maasin City National High School in Southern Leyte. The donation will help provide safer, more durable classrooms for thousands of public school students and their teachers.
The partnership began with a simple referral through the Foundation’s partnership with the Security Bank Branch Banking Group to offer Bank clients the opportunity to help build classrooms through the Bayanihan Para sa Silid-Aralan campaign. “We have always believed that meaningful banking relationships go beyond transactions,” shared Fritzie Moog, Area Head for Makati 3 Branches. “When Richard Uy, Chief Operating Officer of A.C. Steel reached out to our branch to ask how they could support the Foundation in building more classrooms, we immediately connected them with SBFI. It is inspiring to see a client take the initiative and invest in the future of Filipino learners.”
For A.C. Steel, the collaboration reflects its long-standing commitment to nation-building. “We are honoured to play our role in SBI’s Build a School, Build a Nation Program,” said Enrique Sola, Chief Executive Officer of A.C. Steel. “We believe a sturdy, well-built classroom helps create a conducive learning environment for students. A.C Steel’s donation, while modest compared to our country’s needs, helps reduce the classroom shortage. We look forward to a long term partnership with SB Foundation in working towards our shared goal of improving the quality of education in our public schools.
A trusted Philippine steel manufacturer, A.C. Steel supplies high-quality galvanized and pre-painted roofing sheets and metal decking materials for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects. Through this donation, the company reinforces its commitment to sheltering communities and supporting safe, durable facilities.
SBFI Chairman Rafael F. Simpao highlighted the value of partnerships in addressing the country’s classroom shortage. “We are grateful for partners like A.C. Steel who share our vision of building a better nation through education. When private institutions come together, we multiply opportunities for young Filipinos and help create spaces where their potential can thrive.”
Security Bank Foundation continues to seek partners, both external companies and Bank clients, to help expand its impact. This year, SBFI aims to donate 60 classrooms across eight public schools nationwide.
