GT Foundation and TMP Tech renews partnership to support tech-voc students
GT FOUNDATION AND TMP TECH RENEWS PARTNERSHIP TO SUPPORT TECH-VOC STUDENTS. GT Foundation, Inc. (GTFI) and Toyota Motor Philippines School of Technology (TMP Tech) signed a memorandum of agreement to renew their partnership for the Scholarships for Technical-Vocational Education Program (STEP) on February 11, 2020 at the Metrobank Plaza in Makati City. GTFI turned over an amount of PhP 5 million to support the completion of a two-year General Job Automotive Servicing course of students enrolled at TMP Tech campus in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
STEP aims to equip out-of-school youth and other marginalized students with skills that will help them gain immediate employment through Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET). GTFI supports scholars from select TVET schools in the country with industry tie-ups for guaranteed employment. Since 2013, 59 STEP scholars have earned TMP Tech certifications and are now employed in the local and international automotive industry. TMP Tech is a non-stock and non-profit educational institution geared towards transforming the Philippines into a human resource development hub to meet the needs of Global Toyota.
