Ms. Karen Davila is known for her stories on the environment and child labor. She is one of the main anchorpersons for ABS-CBN TV Patrol World together with Ted Failon and Julius Babao. She has hosted shows such as Y Speak (2004), ABS-CBN Headlines (2001), The Correspondents (2000) and Extra! Extra! (1999). In 2006 she hosted “Ako ang Simula: The ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs Yearend Special” and “Tagas sa Guimaras”. As a TV anchorperson, reporter, and producer, Ms. Davila has bagged CNN World Report's Best Medical Report Award. In 1997, her environmental piece was also a CNN finalist in Atlanta. She was recognized as Best Female Newscaster by Star Awards in 1998, and awarded the Jose Rizal Memorial Youth Award in 2003. Through her daily radio program on dzMM, she raised more than 2 million pesos for World Vision to send poor children to school. Also, through "The Correspondents" and dzMM, Karen helped raise 3.5 million pesos for a child's liver transplant. She was appointed as ambassador for Habitat for Humanity.
