Foundation for Sight-TeaM Energy Foundation Jointly Sponsors Eye Treatment of Pagbilao School Children

Under the auspices of Foundation for Sight and Team Energy Foundation, 11 out of the 15 school children of Pagbilao Central District in Quezon found to have pathological eye problems and needed further evaluation, treatment and/or surgery during the mission held on November 18-19, 2010, had undergone consultation at the Eye Center of The Medical City on December 3, 2010.

Team Energy Foundation provided the transportation and food requirement of the children and their parents, including sponsorship of the consultation fee.

Blue cards for service patients of The Medical City were secured for the children to enable them to avail of the free consultation when they come back.

The team of doctors of the Eye Center headed by Drs. Alvina Pauline D. Santiago and Fay Charmaine Cruz, pediatric ophthalmologists and strabismus specialists, conducted the necessary examination and evaluation. The children were diagnosed and the parents were advised on the plan of management for treatment and/or surgery under the indigency program of Foundation for Sight, Inc.

Dr. Benita M. Soltura, a pediatric optometrist and chairman of the National Committee for Sight Preservation of the Optometric Association of the Philippines for the Sight for a Child program, was in attendance to observe the culminating activity.

As a Christmas gift to the children requiring surgery, they will undergo operation on December 23, 2010 after all the requirements have been submitted.
