“For more than 100 years, we bring you our products, and we also serve you in your communities.” – Jonah de Lumen-Pernia, Coca-Cola Public Affairs and Sustainability Director.
Staying true to the global philanthropic goal of Coca-Cola in water stewardship, #ProjectAgos of Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines continue to provide water to more than 215,000 beneficiaries across the country. This Ram Pump Project in Mapala is just one of the 42 communities that we serve in Negros. In the Philippines, we have safely replenished 124% of the water we used in the production of our beverages.
“It’s not just about business. It’s about the community that we operate in. As long as there is Coca-Cola here in the Philippines, we will have this strong partnership with our communities.” – Winn Everhart, Coca-Cola Philippines President and General Manager.
Sugar cane farmers usually had to wait for at least 8 months to gain revenue from their sugar cane production. Now that they have regular access to water for productive use, they can now have production for the whole year through vegetable farming. The income that they get from their vegetable farms can now sustain their families for the whole year.
“I am one of the happiest people here today. Knowing that the perseverance of our farmers have paid off with your help.” – Hon. Mayor Manolet Escalante of Manapla
“The government cannot do this alone. I would like to replicate this partnership we have, to other communities. Ang Coca-Cola Foundation ay may tunay na malasakit para sa ating small farmers.” – Hon. Engr. Hermnegildo Serafica, Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) Administrator.
This project was made possible by Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines in partnership with AID Foundation Inc. (AIDFI), Department of Agriculture – Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA), and LGU of Manapla.
